Overconsumption - Design Intervention

ART 4205 | Fall 2024

The complicity map helped me understand system thinking from a broad perspective, breaking it down into separate elements of my topic. Overconsumption had multiple elements, making it difficult to decide which element was more relevant.

Each stage of the project offered new insights into design. The systematic thinking and complexity map was useful for breaking down the topic into smaller, more manageable elements. By organizing and separating these factors, I could understand the broader system. The research methods also helped me refine and focus my ideas for creating interventions within the topic.

Designing the journal was an enjoyable process. The silent critique helped push me to refine my design, especially since I wasn't initially satisfied with how the journal was turning out. As for the printing process, experimenting with risograph printing was exciting.
